Strength & Movement Coaching

At ArCTIC we believe that strength is a skill, and just like any other skill, it must be practiced to achieve mastery.

We believe that a strong body is more efficient and possesses a higher injury threshold.

The strength program at ArCTIC includes an in depth evaluation of your ability to move and stabilize safely, before any weight is added to your training. We will use a Functional Movement Screen (FMS), a FitQuest Test and a Dynamic Stabilization (DNS) Assessment to determine your biggest movement deficiency, and we will apply appropriate and specific correctives to get you moving better quickly. Additional assessments will be performed throughout your training at ArCTIC to ensure your movement patterns are always safe.

After the initial assessment, a training plan will be created, specifically for you and your goals, based on the five basic human movement patterns (push, pull, hinge, squat, and carry). By training these movement patterns we get the biggest “bang for our buck” with each workout and you will become stronger and more efficient with the demands of everyday life. These patterns will be trained using a variety of different equipment (kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, bodyweight, TRX, etc.) depending on your ability level, specific goals, and interests.
